Key Stage 2 children have been learning about Sunderland Young Carers during their Seal Lessons.
Mrs Simpson has been sharing the information she was given after attending a Young Carers' Conference with Mrs Kelly at the Stadium Of Light. Each class was shown video clips of young carers going about their dailychores within their homes, then information was shared about the impact that this has upon the child’s life. As St Anne’s is a caring and supportive school we want to identify any pupils within our school who may be a young carer. The Sunderland Carers Centre offers amazing support for both the children and their families.
We would like to share the invitation below, from the Young Carers, with our St Anne’s families.
We are Sunderland Young Carers. If you are aged between 4 and 25 years old, live in Sunderland and have a family member who has an illness, disability, frailty or an addiction who is unable to manage alon, Sunderland Carers' Centre is here to help you cope, so you are not alone!
If you are interested in joining the Young Carers' Group then we’d love to have you onboard! There are different age groups so you can be with people your own age. You can join us on trips in the school holidays and join activities at the centre free of charge. There is plenty going on for the older ones too.
