Keeping Safer online

The internet can be fun and educational for children, but we understand there are things on it you wouldn't want them to see. Children are taught internet safety in classwork but it is a message that cannot be repeated too often. The link below gives advice and information that may help to inform parents and enable them to help themselves and their children to keep safe online.

It’s also important that parents and children know how to protect the home computer from what is often termed “cyber attacks”.  Good anti-virus software is essential but we still need to be careful in how we use the internet. The advice is quite long ….but we all need to be aware of such information. Web Manager Tip! There are many good anti virus and computer protection software applications available. Some are free (such as Microsoft Essentials - Google this)  or if you are a BT broadband customer, BT Family Protection software together with online security specialist McAfee is free to BT broadband customers. There are also packages to buy. Whatever you choose, it is vital that your computer and YOUR FAMILY is protected by security software that is regularly updated  to be effective.
