What do the School Council do?
A fundamental "British Value" is to encourage respect for democracy and support participation in the democratic process.
The purpose of the School Council is to give the children a voice, allowing children from across the school to share ideas and suggestions. The children meet every few weeks to discuss requests from the children in their classes.
What are the School Councillors working on?
The Councillors are set tasks, such as to survey the children to find out if they would like to have a Halloween disco. Using these results the children presented their proposal to Mrs Lynch.Following Mrs Lynch's agreementl, our next step was to begin planning and organising the event.
What to do if you have any questions or suggestions?
If you have anything you would like to put to the children either speak to one of the Councillors or by writing down your questions on paper and posting them either on the School Council notice board (outside Mrs Lynch’s office) or in our treasured opinions box next to the school office.
